Kevin Lu
Violinist Kevin Lu, 14, is currently a 9th grader in Portola High School in Irvine. Kevin has played violin for 6 years and is currently studying under Eunhee Kim. Kevin has competed and won numerous prizes in many different competitions including SYMF, SWV, and Sattori. Kevin won 1st prize in LA final in American String Teacher Association competition in 2018 and was recommended to California State Competition in October. Kevin has also won 1st prize in American Protégé International Competition and was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall this summer. Kevin was a first violin in OC Chamber Music Dvorak Piano Quintet group in 2017. Kevin has also served as a concert master and soloist for California All Southern Honor Orchestra, and participated in many other orchestras including IUSD Middle School and Elementary Honors Orchestra, Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings, and California All State Honors Orchestra. Kevin has also been invited to play with the FOOSA Philharmonic in their debut performance in the Disney Concert Hall. Aside from playing the violin, Kevin also play golf and compete in science Olympia.
