Duncan McDougall

Canadian violinist Duncan McDougall is a full scholarship student of the Royal Conservatory’s Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists, in the studios of Kelly Parkins-Lindstrom and Jonathan Crow. In October 2016, he made his orchestral debut with the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra, and has since performed with the Cathedral Bluffs Symphony Orchestra and the Oakville Chamber Orchestra. Duncan is currently serving as co-concertmaster of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. As a winner of the TSYO Concerto Competition, he performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra in November 2018.

Duncan was the Grand Prize winner at the 2017 CCC Piano and Violin Competition, and has won numerous awards and scholarships at festivals such as Toronto Kiwanis, North York, Rotary Burlington, OMFA provincial music festival, and the Canadian Music Competition. As a chamber musician, Duncan attended the Szekely/Rolston Young Musician’s Program at the 2016 Banff International String Quartet Competition.

Duncan has performed in masterclasses for David Radzynski, Lina Bahn, Ilya Kaler, Joel Krosnick, Rachel Barton Pine, and Almita Vamos. He is a Grade 11 student at Uxbridge Secondary School.
