Young Jin Lee
Young Jin Lee, a junior at Henry M. Gunn High School, started playing the cello when he was ten years old and is currently studying with Mr.Christopher Costanza. He has received many awards including those from the Great Composers Competition, the 14th Korea Times Annual Youth Music Competitions, the 2018 US Open Music Competition, 2018 United States International Music Competition, 2018 Silicon Valley Youth Music Competition, and the 2017 Bay Area Music Festival. Young Jin is currently principal cellist of the Henry M. Gunn High school orchestra and chamber orchestra and has also been part of the KAMSA Youth Orchestra. Young Jin has been principal cellist for two orchestras at GSYO (formerly known as ECYS), where he also received the opportunity to perform as a soloist twice. Young Jin has performed with multiple chamber groups such as the Fantasima Trio and Topaz Quartet, which have received many awards from music competitions and opportunities to perform at the Burlingame Music Club and World Music day. Finally, to serve his community, Young Jin plays for retirement communities and accompanies a choir at his church.
