Lina Elwood
Lina, currently 9 years old, has been studying the piano for 4.5 years under the guidance of Kumiko Imamura. She has since won top prizes in both local and international competitions. Most recently, she was selected as a First Prize Winner of Best Debussy Performance of the Great Composers Competition. Earlier this year, Lina was awarded a second prize at Chopin International Piano Competition in Hartford, CT. Lina also won the First Prize in the French Impressionist Category and the Second Prize in the Chopin Category at the Schubert Club Awards Competition. In January of this year, she was selected as a winner, for the second consecutive year, at the Annual Deborah Kahan Competition held by the Connecticut State Music Teachers Association. In 2018, she participated in her first international competition, the Future Stars International Competition, and was awarded a second prize. Also last year, she was selected to perform for masterclasses at Suzuki Association of the Americas’ 18th Biennial National Conference. In June 2017, she received a Gold Award at the Annual Golden Key Music Festival and performed at Carnegie Hall. In the same year, she was selected to perform with a faculty string quartet at the Colorado Suzuki Institute’s Honors Recital.
