Chi Vu started learning the piano at the age of 5. She studied at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and is currently studying at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School with Dr. Jonathan Bass. Chi has received Gold Award at the Asia Pacific Arts Festival in Singapore, Second Prize at the Great Composers Competition, Second Prize at the International Music Competition in France, Second Prize in the Professional Category at the CEG Music Festival, Excellent Prize at the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition in Japan, and a Diploma Certificate from the Australian Music Examinations Board.
She has also attended masterclasses with renowned artists including Jean Dube, Konstantinos Papadakis, Gregg Pauley, and Staffan Sandstrom. At NEC, she is a part of two chamber music groups and recently performed solo in the NEC Piano Department Concert in Jordan Hall. In the past two summers, Chi attended Interlochen Arts Camp and InterHarmony Arts Festival. Besides that, Chi has volunteered to teach music to younger children and organized classical music concerts to support disadvantaged households in areas affected by natural disasters and climate change.
